Callum Williamson opened the 2025/26 Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series with a hard-fought victory in Saturday night’s 30-lap Feature at Powerpalooza X, kicking off the season in front of a packed Perth Motorplex crowd.

Starting seventh on the grid after a quiet run through qualifying and the heats, the 32-year-old Geraldton driver wasted no time moving forward. Early mechanical dramas for front-runners Dayne Kingshott, Kaiden Manders and Kris Coyle opened the door, and Williamson was in the lead by Lap 4.

From there, he looked in control — until a mid-race caution bunched up the field and allowed Taylor Milling to pounce on the restart. Milling briefly grabbed the lead, but then Williamson responded immediately, reclaiming the top spot and holding off late pressure after another caution to seal the win.

“It’s a great way to start the season,” Williamson said. “We weren’t great early, but we came good in the feature race. I’m stoked to get the win in front of this awesome crowd.”

Milling settled for second after a strong showing, with Daniel Harding completing the podium. Kingshott, the two-time defending series champion, recovered to finish fifth and will be looking to bounce back at Round 2.

That round comes on November 1 with the EGT Sprintcar Westernapolis, again at Perth Motorplex, where Williamson will look to build on his early momentum.
