Supercars to host another Bathurst Street Party

By Thomas Miles
Date posted: 29 August 2025
After a successful first attempt, the Street Party is coming back to Bathurst to kick off the 2025 Great Race festivities.
The Wednesday night event will again be headlined by the Track To Town activation, where all 27 cars will drive from the track to the heart of the city.
A full signing session with all the stars will also take place, while the Pirtek Pit Stop Challenge will also take centre stage during a live Fox Sports TV broadcast.
The Pit Stop Challenge will see the fastest crews face off for the Golden Rattlegun and $20,000.
All the fun will take place between 17:00-19:00 AEST on Wednesday, October 8, providing a perfect introduction to the bumper Great Race weekend that starts the following day.
After a massive success last year where the entire city centre was full of fans, Supercars CEO James Warburton said bringint back the Street Party was the obvious thing to do.
“After the phenomenal success of last year’s inaugural Street Party, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring it back even bigger and better in 2025,” he said.
“To have all 27 Supercars and our championship drivers on parade through the heart of Bathurst, meeting with our passionate fans, as well as a showcase of our world-class pit crews under lights on national television – that’s motorsport spectacle at its absolute finest and something truly unique to the Bathurst 1000.
“This is exactly how you celebrate what is without question the biggest and most important week in Australian motorsport.”

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
