NASCAR Unveils 2026 Schedules with San Diego Street Race and Homestead Finale

NASCAR has confirmed the 2026 schedules for its three national series – the Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and CRAFTSMAN Truck Series – with major changes including a new street race, returning venues, and a shift in championship location.
The headline announcement is the inaugural NASCAR San Diego street race at Naval Base Coronado, celebrating the United States Navy’s 250th anniversary. All three national series will compete at the base on June 19–21, marking the first time NASCAR has staged an event on an active military installation.
San Diego is sure to hit the radar for some of our Supercar drivers, while other road course races are Circuit of the Americas (March 1), Watkins Glen (May 10), Sonoma (June 28) and the Charlotte Roval (October 11). There is one less road course this year after the one-off appearance in Mexico.
Homestead-Miami Speedway will return as the host of Championship Weekend from November 6–8, reclaiming the finale for the first time since 2019 after six years at Phoenix Raceway.
The Cup Series also sees the return of Chicagoland Speedway (July 5) and North Wilkesboro Speedway (July 19), both as points-paying events. Chicagoland last featured in 2019, while North Wilkesboro will host its first points race in 30 years.
The All-Star Race will move to Dover Motor Speedway, with the Cup, O’Reilly, and Truck Series racing at the “Monster Mile” across May 15–17. Bowman Gray Stadium will again open the season with the exhibition Clash on February 1, followed by the Daytona 500 on February 15.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, rebranded from Xfinity in 2026, will mirror several of the Cup changes, including Chicagoland and San Diego. It also retains Rockingham Speedway, set for Easter weekend.
The CRAFTSMAN Truck Series schedule features two firsts, with street races at St. Petersburg (February 28) and San Diego (June 19). Lime Rock Park and Indianapolis Raceway Park also return, while the Trucks begin their playoffs under the lights at Bristol on September 17.
