Piastri Grandstand to Debut at Albert Park in 2026

Oscar Piatri on the Melbourne Walk 2025

By Thomas Miles

Oscar Piastri’s rise from Melbourne kart tracks to Formula 1 stardom has been given the ultimate home-town recognition, his own grandstand at Albert Park.

The Piastri Grandstand will make its debut at the 2026 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, taking pride of place on the main straight directly opposite the pit lane. The premium seating will form part of an expanded structure alongside the famous Fangio Grandstand, giving fans the closest view of the start line and of Piastri’s McLaren garage.

The announcement comes with ticket details confirmed for the 2026 season opener, set for 5–8 March. General public sales open on 10 September 2025, while American Express Card Members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets first, with a pre-sale starting on 3 September at noon AEST.

Prices will start at $45 for single-day Park Passes (general admission), with multi-day options and grandstand seating available at higher rates. The Piastri Grandstand itself will feature some of the most sought-after tickets, given its prime location and prestige.

Piastri, who currently leads the 2025 drivers’ standings and has already chalked up more wins than most Aussie F1 legends managed in a career, admitted the tribute still feels surreal.

“I’m very excited by the news that I’ll have my own grandstand at next year’s Australian Grand Prix. It feels very surreal, and I never thought this would happen, but the support is incredible, and I can’t wait to see it all come together next March,” Piastri said.
“Seeing all the fans in my own grandstand directly opposite the McLaren garage is going to be an amazing experience.”

The 23-year-old joins elite company at Albert Park, with grandstands already honouring Jack Brabham, Arthur Waite, Alan Jones, Daniel Ricciardo and Mark Webber.

Webber himself was quick to hail the milestone: “It’s magnificent news for the event and for Oscar. It’s a reflection of his results so far, incredibly early in his career, that he’s managed to have the amount of podiums and victories that he’s had. Clearly, he is very comfortable at the elite level, and making his presence felt, which is brilliant.”

The Victorian Government and event organisers expect the Piastri Grandstand to be a sell-out and a centrepiece of Melbourne’s blockbuster race week.

The 2025 Australian Grand Prix set new benchmarks, drawing record crowds, generating hundreds of millions of dollars for the Victorian economy, and supporting more than 1600 full-time jobs. Organisers expect 2026 to be even bigger, with the new Piastri Grandstand tipped to be one of the hottest tickets on the circuit.
