Extra wildcard for Cameron Crick

After a debut in Sydney, Cameron Crick will enjoy another solo Supercars wildcard at Queensland Raceway.
Crick will jump back into the #35 Matt Stone Racing Chevrolet Camaro at the eighth round, which will be the first at Ipswich since 2019.
Crick enjoyed a solid debut at the Sydney Motorsport Park season opener, where he showed promise by finishing 25th, 18th and 24th.
He managed to hold his emotions back to get as high as 13th, but more importantly, stayed out of trouble.
Initially, MSR planned on saving the wildcard for the two enduros, but have rolled it out back for the team’s home round at Queensland Raceway.
This means he will get three striaght rounds of main-game racing also including the The Bend and Bathurst enduro rounds.
“The Paperclip” is the team’s test track, and Crick’s familiarity will help him at the round, as it did at SMP.
Since the debut, Crick hit the headlines again by charging from last to first with Dean Campbell to win the Bathurst 6 Hour.
After seeing a dream come true at Sydney in February, Crick cannot wait to have another crack.
“Very much looking forward to an extra sprint round,” he said.
“We have been working away in the background to put it together, obviously got some new partners involved and the Queensland race being the last sprint round before the enduros, I think will give me good confidence leading into the enduros.
“It’s also MSR’s test track that I was lucky enough to do a few laps at last year ahead of the enduros, so apart from Sydney, it was probably the best and most fitting sprint round for us to do.”
Crick revealed he has spent plenty of time at MSR HQ to ensure he is ready.
“I have been spending a lot of time at the MSR workshop the last few weeks,” he said.
“They have started to put my chassis back together along with some new partners we now have involved, so it has been important to be here as much as I can and be getting prepared for the enduros.
“We’re already in July and things are going to start to happen pretty quick. Obviously after Townsville I’ll be doing those next three rounds in the championship.
“Both my MSR teammates have been really solid so far this year, so I feel like we have got good data and fast race cars leading into an exciting time of the year.”
