AU4 Championship ready to fire

The 2025 Motorsport Australia AU4 Championship begins this weekend at The Bend Motorsport Park.
Previously known as the Australian Formula 4 Championship, which returned last year, it enters a new era in 2025 under AGI Sport with more cars opening the series to younger drivers.
The dual-class format sees both the latest Gen2 Tatuus F4-T421 Abarth and Gen1 Mygale M14-F4 Ford-powered cars share the grid.
A 16-car field will take on the event that is part of the third round of the SA State Motor Racing Championship.
The Gen2 competitors, aged from 15 years, will battle for fight for the overall title that was dominated by James Piszcyk, while Gen1 entrants, aged from 14 years, will contest the Junior Cup.
After the Australian F4 Championship returned last year and now known as the AU4 Championship, Series Manager Adam Gotch believes it is a step in the right direction.

“The unique dual-class lineup and a healthy grid will make for an exciting 2025 AU4 Championship; our top drivers have their sights set on a national championship and the road to Formula 1, and the Gen1 category offers another all-important step in the formula pathway for junior and aspiring drivers,” Gotch said.
The Bend opens the season with three races this weekend and the South Australian circuit will also host the second round.
Phillip Island in August is the mid part of the season before it ends with a double header at Sydney Motorsport Park.
