Hansford ready for Tassie return

Touring Car Masters will be back, charging into Tasmania for the second round of the 2025 season and one of the drivers to watch will be Ryan Hansford.
Hansford and his determined Multispares Racing team are always contenders and are keen to bounce back after starting on the back foot in the Sydney opener.
Having struggled with set-up, the # Torana finished the first race in ninth, but tweaks throughout the weekend propelled the team back up to where it normally is and be second in the final race.
As a result, Hansford still walked away with a solid haul of points in fourth and was thrilled to do so.
“I was very happy, as we kept trying a few things over the weekend after stuffing up the set-up.” he told Auto Action.
“We buggered up the rear spring rate and were too soft in the back and it created too much understeer, so the car was not alive enough.
“We are happy with what we have done with the car. It is awesome.
“Last year at Sydney we cooked our good engine, and it takes so long to get parts for these things from overseas.
“I am not sure when we will be back to where we were. Hopefully we can get it back at Symmons but not sure yet.
“If we can get that horsepower back that would be great.
“Happiness is the key and with the new team structure we are enjoying our racing.”
The last time TCM took on Symmons Plains Hansford was at the front of the field, finishing second to Steven Johnson in 2023.
“It is a pretty cool race track, but it is a horsepower track, but also coming over the front straight there is a big unloaded corner and you need to let those wheels grab,” he said.
“Getting the gearing right at Symmons is important and I think I am there now.
“In TCM we only have four gears so making the most of every gear is key. It is a great track.”
