Evans and Schutte do it again

Jaxon Evans, Elliott Schutte and Ferrari have completed the Sydney sweep in GT World Challenge Australia.
After thumping the field under lights on Saturday night, Evans and Schutte had a bigger challenge on their hands on Sunday afternoon, but still won comfortably with tyre strategy again a big factor.
It leaves the #93 Arise Racing Ferrari 296 combination with almost double the amount of points as their nearest rival in the title race.
Evans shot out of the gates when lights went out and needed just one tour to pull more than a second clear of the field.
Leading the rest was initially Tony D’Alberto in the Lamborghini before Ryan Wood left him behind.
This put the red and white Huracan under a significant blowtorch from Broc Feeney, Jordan Love and Jayden Ojeda.
D’Alberto got his elbows out and retained second for the entire first stint, but his work was unfortunately undone when Adrian Deitz rotated at Turn 4.
The #888 that was third also suffered a similar fate with Brad Schumacher going off at the second turn.
As the cycle of stops took place, things were also getting interesting at the front of the field with Schutte finding himself second and 8s adrift.
Leading the way was Wood’s co-driver Steven Brooks, but the Ferrari had another ace up its sleeve.
After not changing tyres on Saturday, Schutte had four fresh tyres at his disposal and put them to good use.
He needed 10 laps to hunt down the #88 Audi and picked him off with ease with six laps still to run.
Brooks still did enough to stay in second, while Schumacher recovered from his earlier mistake to snare third.
Lucchitti made a last-lap move on Miles to snare fourth as Talbot ended a tough weekend in seventh.
