Randle set for GT debut

Thomas Randle is the latest Supercars star to take on GT World Challenge Australia and will debut at Sydney.
Randle will drive a Tigani Motorsport Mercedes alongside Marcel Zalloua in Pro Am at the upcoming GT Festival at Sydney Motorsport Park on May 2-4.
The Tickford driver follows other Supercars drivers Will Brown, Broc Feeney, Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans.
Whilst Randle did not race, he was still present at Phillip Island’s opening SpeedSeroes round as a commentator.
But now he is exchanging the microphone for the driver’s seat.
As for Zalloua, the New South Welshman has long been associated with GT racing, which includes a number of appearances in the Intercontinental GT Challenge – his best result coming in 2020 where he finished fourth in class alongside Dean Canto, Grant Denyer and Liam Talbot.
He is no stranger to GT World Challenge Australia, having taken part in a part time campaign last year, while he also drove in the Bathurst 12 Hour, but a crash ruled him out of the Phillip Island opener.
“I am excited to be back in the category after missing out on Phillip Island. I wasn’t sure if I was going to come back, but I very quickly realised I’m not someone who enjoys sitting out,” Zalloua said.
“I found watching from the sidelines really tough, so with Sydney being my home round, I had to figure out how I could get back behind the wheel–especially since the Audi wasn’t in good shape after Bathurst.
“Having someone like Tom on board is exciting. He’s been on our radar for a while. He seems like a great bloke–sensible, quick, and with a good personality. He just felt like the right fit. We’ll see how we go.
“This will be a one-off round, and we’ll see how it pans out. There is a lot happening in my world at the moment, however never say never. There is nothing truly like being behind the wheel.”
