We take a deep dive into Liam Lawson’s sacking from Red Bull Racing, this leads the news in the 1 April edition Auto Action Digital, we look at what it means for the young Kiwi and how the pressure is on replacement Yuki Tsunoda at his home Grand Prix this weekend in Japan.

Even though the driver swap was predicted, it was still a shock from the camp that tolerated an underwhelming Sergio Perez for two years.

More on F1, after Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from the Chinese Grand Prix for too much wear on his plank, we thought we’d try to explain the plank – which is actually a hi-tech wood and resin polymer – and why it is deemed necessary.

Then our F1 man on the ground, Luis Vasconcelos, looks at the evolving plans for a Thai Grand Prix and the call for a return to howling V10 engines when the rules are up for the next adjustment and we also have his emotional tribute to the late-Eddie Jordan.

Zak Brown pokes the Red Bull Racing bear with a prediction that Max Verstappen will race for Mercedes next year, even though Luis thinks it will be Aston Martin-Honda.

On the back of all that, Wayne Webster muses over whether Supercars will Thai one on in 2026, maybe with a Singapore Sling as the teams prepare for the overseas trip to New Zealand next week.

We also debrief on the Shane Howard’s shift out of Supercars’ CEO chair, and what it means.

We have our regular feature on the International Aussies so you can see how our emerging talent is going, as well as a chat with James Wharton about the importance of his recent F3 test and how he hopes it will get his season back on track.

We’ve got 4 pages of speedway, heaps of drags, hillclimbs and rallies along with national and state level racing.

Then there’s our international coverage with race reports on F1, MotoGP, WRC, IndyCar and NASCAR.

It is another huge edition of Auto Action Digital, and it is free and available to read online now here
