Trans Am season to start with record field

A big field of 32 Trans Am monsters will roar at the Hi-Tec Oils Race Tasmania this weekend and produce a big start to 2025.
The entry list is a new category record and has been hailed as the biggest V8 powered field in Australia for two decades featuring a number of Supercars stars.
Leading the way is reigning champion Todd Hazelwood, who will be racing the #1 TFH Racing Mustang.
He will have plenty of Supercars company with Garry Rogers Motorsport’s James Moffat determined to get his title back.
Alongside him will be PremiAir driver James Golding, who is back at his former team and will race a select amount of rounds.
Other Supercars drivers include co-drivers Jack Smith and Jarrod Hughes, plus Super2 drivers Ben Gomersall and Nash Morris.
Nathan Herne is always one to watch and he will be spearheaded his own expanded team.
A number of new faces are coming to Trans Am having starred in other categories.
Reigning Touring Car Masters champion Adam Garwood is fronting up in his own Mustang.
TCR teammates and winners Jordan Cox and Ben Bargwanna are also taking on a new challenge.
The likes of Mark Crutcher, Cameron Laws, Michael Coulter, Jason Pryde, Graham Cheney and Sprintcar ace Domain Ramsay will battle for Pro Am.
As usual the Mustang is the car to beat through sheer weight in numbers with 24 Mustangs and eight Camaros.
The weekend schedule sees a lone practice session on Saturday followed by a two-part qualifying session and the opening race of the season, with three further 25-minute-long races scheduled for Sunday.
Both days will feature live coverage on SBS, Fox Sports and Kayo from 1:00pm – 5:00pm.
