The Formula 1 season got off to a damp start in Melbourne, but it made for a spectacular race.

We have all the coverage and news from Australia’s premier motorsport weekend, but that is just the start of this fortnight’s Auto Action Digital.

Lando Norris won the race in a dominant McLaren, but our boy Oscar Piastri spun out of contention. Can anyone catch McLaren this season?

We also spent some time reflecting on Jack Doohan’s AGP weekend, which, despite a crash in the race, was quite positive.

Our sleuths in the F1 paddock have investigated the story of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation exploring its options for a second weekend of action.

AGPC chair Martin Pakula said he wants to try for an F1 test weekend, but we believe a standalone Supercars weekend with a season-opening spectacular is more likely. The next option is a Goodwood-style classic meeting.

Also, from Albert Park, we have our first chat with the global boss of General Motors motorsport, Erik Warren, on why Supercars matters to the General and what it is doing to ensure future success.

In other Supercars coverage we talk to Matt Stone about his team’s success and Cam Hill talks about his breakout weekend, with Cam Hill leading teammate Nick Percat home on Friday for his first win and the team’s first one-two.

In the latest issue Auto Action covers MotoGP, IMSA, NASCAR, all the AGP supports.

Plus all the latest in national racing including huge historic event wraps, hillclimbs, karting, and plenty of other national racing, along with tributes to ‘Mr Porsche’ Alan Hamilton and Bathurst winner and Ford hero John French.

As always Auto Action is jam packed with speedway coverage from all over the nation.
