Love leaves BRT

By Thomas Miles

Aaron Love has left Blanchard Racing Team on the eve of the second Supercars round, this weekend’s Melbourne SuperSprint.

BRT has announced the bombshell just three days before the event at the Australian Grand Prix, which begins on Thursday.

In a short team statement, BRT said it was at Love’s request.

“At the request of Aaron Love, Blanchard Racing Team and Aaron Love have mutually agreed to part ways, effective immediately,” the statement read.

Although this leaves the #3 Mustang currently vacant, it is believed Love’s co-driver from last year, Aaron Cameron, will jump in for a maiden solo drive.

Love made 29 Supercars starts, all for BRT from 2023-2025 with a best result of 12th at Albert Park last year.

He made his debut as an enduros wildcard in 2023 when BRT also backed him with a drive in Super2.

That campaign prepared him for a step up to the main game, but he has battled with just three finishes in the top 15.

The news comes off the back of a tough Sydney 500 opener where Love clashed with teammate James Courtney in an infamous qualifying incident at pit exit and both drivers told differing points of view.

The Melbourne SuperSprint starts on Thursday.
