Anagnostiadis scores Aussie F1 Academy breakthrough

Aiva Anagnostiadis has made the latest breakthrough in Australian motorsport by being the country’s first F1 Academy driver.

Anagnostiadis, 17, will race for Hitech Grand Prix in the all female series in 2025 which starts at the Chinese Grand Prix.

The 2025 season will be third edition of F1 Academy, which puts the worlds best female racers on the Formula 1 stage with Marta Garcia and Abbi Pulling the previous champions.

Anagnostiadis will stand out racing with TAG Heuer backing on her #11 Hitech Tatuus F4-T421 that is powered by a 4 cylinder engine.

With the Aussie’s signature, there are only two unconfirmed seats on the 2025 F1 Academy grid where 18 drivers race with support from F1 teams at seven F1 races from Shanghai to Las Vegas.

Anagnostiadis hails from Melbourne and has motorsport in her blood with her mother Barbara and brother James both karters and her father a track mechanic.

She started karting aged six and in 2022 she competed at the Motorsport Games in France having won the Australian Ladies Trophy a year earlier.

By 2024 she had joined the Alpine Rac(H)er Academy Program where he she did a full season with Dan Holland Racing before stepping up to cars and finishing 10th in the Indian F4 Championship.

Avia Anagnostiadis is the first Aussie to race F1 Academy.

Round 2: Saudi Arabian Grand Prix April 19-20

Round 3: Miami Grand Prix May 3-4

Round 4: Canadian Grand Prix June 14-15

Round 5: Dutch Grand Prix August 30-31

Round 6: Singapore Grand Prix October 4-5

Round 7: Las Vegas Grand Prix November 21-22
