Australian Grand Prix ticket issue ‘resolved’

Ticketmaster has claimed the outage that delayed ticket sales to the 2025 Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix has been “resolved” ahead of this afternoon’s resumption.

With the Access24 (October 2) and Ballot (October 7) presales out of the way, the general public were expected to be given their chance to chase F1 tickets from 12.00 AEDT on Tuesday, October 8.

However, a “global third party outage” forced has meant tickets will not be available for another 24 hours.

As a result, fans will have to wait until 12.00 AEDT today to chase F1 tickets for the 2025 season opener.

It was believed the outage stemmed from an issue with the Ticketmaster platform with record crowds and greater demand on Australian Grand Prix tickets than ever before expected next year.

A Ticketmaster statement confirmed the “outage” has critically been resolved ahead of the resumption of sales today.

“Prior to today’s FORMULA 1 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX 2025 general public onsale, we were made aware of an issue with a global third-party web infrastructure provider that affected our queue management systems,” a Ticketmaster statement read.

“This outage would have hindered our ability to provide a smooth onsale for fans, so therefore the decision was made to postpone the general public sale until tomorrow Wednesday 9 October 12pm (AEDT).

“This outage has since been resolved and all systems are currently working as expected.

“We thank fans for their patience during this time.”

After breaking records in 2022, 2023 and 2024, even bigger crowds are anticipated for the 2025 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, which hosts the F1 season opener for the first time in six years next year.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation CEO Travis Auld told AUTO ACTION there were 100,000 people in the queue buying tickets last year.
