Five-time 500cc world champion Mick Doohan and the Homecoming Ride will once again kick off the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in 2024.

Doohan will lead a convey of hundreds of riders from San Remo to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on Thursday, October 17, the eve of the 2024 race.

In a treat for all participants, the Homecoming Ride finishes with a lap and a half of the iconic 4.448km circuit.

Last year over 400 riders and even the legendary Marc Marquez joined the fun.

It is fitting Doohan is leading the way having been the most successful premier class rider ever from Australia and wining the 1998 500cc Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

“I am really excited to be back down at Phillip Island for this year’s MotoGP event in October,” Doohan said.

“I am especially looking forward to getting on the road with all of the fans for the Homecoming Ride.

“Phillip Island is such a great track and holds so many great memories for me. It is the Australian fans that make this event one of a kind.”

Places are limited to join Doohan in the Homecoming Ride and more information can be found HERE
