Summer Series to carry on karting action

Summer Series karting

By Thomas Miles

Whilst the Australian Karting Championships may be over, the action will not stop with the Summer Series coming up.

The classes and calendar of the 2024 Summer Series have been confirmed with it firing up at the end of October.

The Summer Series will feature six classes – Cadet 12, KA3 Junior, KA3 Senior, TaG 125, KA2 and KZ2.

The opening round will be held at the Newcastle Kart Racing Club on October 18-20 before the series heads to the Go-Kart Club of Victoria in Melbourne on November 30-December 1.

To spice up the racing, “unique” race formats have been promised featuring time-certain Sprint and Feature races and reverse top 10 grids on two-day meetings.

Drivers who take part in both Summer Series rounds receive priority entry into the 2025 Australian Kart Championship.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Summer Series to a pair of historic venues in Australian karting and offer competitors an excellent opportunity to race in a highly competitive environment,” said Karting Australia CEO Kelvin O’Reilly.

“With the addition of priority entry into the 2025 Australian Kart Championship and the unique race format, we’re looking forward to providing a valuable incentive for drivers to participate in this year’s Summer Series.”
