Jones cruises to another win

Harri Jones has extended his winning streak to five races with another faultless performance in the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia endurance race in Sydney.
Jones perfectly managed the lap affair to lead home Jackson Walls by just under 2s.
They were the class off the field with Fabian Coulthard a further 8s back after a late move on Dylan O’Keeffe. Leading Pro Am comfortably was Adrian Flack.
Aside from the odd spot-fire it was a relatively clean race with the biggest drama track limits with a number of drivers including Garth Tander hit with 5s time penalties for track limits.
There was drama on the warmup lap where Matt Belford found himself slightly spun on the grass.
When lights went out Jones got another great start as Walls snatched second from O’Keeffe as Coulthard settled into fourth in the clean start.
Matt Slavin had a big lockup as Dean Cook spun at the same moment and same corner, while Marco Padayachee also rotated.
It did not take long for Jones to open a 2s lead over Walls, while Bailey Hall made six spots to get into the top 10.
Once again Tander made big ground moving nine spots up to 16th before being hurt by track limits.
Coulthard waited until the 27-minute mark to snatch third from O’Keeffe at Turn 5 which proved to be a podium-deciding move.
Walls had good late-race pace to ensure Jones did not drive off into the distance, but was never allowed to be close enough to the dominant leader.
The third and final Carrera Cup race is at 14.55 AEST.
