Ferrari reveal blue Miami livery featuring title sponsor HP

By Reese Mautone

After teasing a dramatic change to their livery in Miami this week, Scuderia Ferrari has unveiled a new-look SF-24 featuring “splashes” of blue and a debut appearance from the Italian team’s new title sponsor, HP.

At the Miami Grand Prix, Scuderia Ferrari will celebrate 70 years on the North American market, calling upon two colours from their past: Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino; both of which have not been seen for around 50 years.

The colours, a light and dark blue, will feature on the wings, the engine cover, the halo, the rear-view mirrors, the race numbers and on the wheel rims, a nod to their Sixties challanger, stemming from John Surtees’ 158 F1 which clinched the World Championship in North America, 60 years ago.

“The Scuderia will be one of the stars of the show over the Floridian weekend and the cars will sport a special livery celebrating two colours from its past,” Scuderia Ferrari shared.

“These shades of blue were part of daily life in Maranello for many years and are now coming back into play after an absence of around fifty years.”

Ferrari reveal one-off blue livery in Miami.

Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and almost all team members will be wearing a special team kit, primarily featuring the Azzurro La Plata with “splashes” of Azzurro Dino, including their race suits, shoes, gloves and helmets for this one-off weekend.

The drivers will also be celebrating the historic anniversary away from the F1 race track, with Leclerc and Sainz each getting around in special Ferrari 296 GTS Assetto Fiorano sports cars, “personalised for the extraordinary series of events taking place in the United States”.

In addition, the team is welcoming HP as a title sponsor, with the logo debuting on the SF-24’s wings, engine cover, halo and wheel rims in Miami this weekend.

“The biggest change is the recently announced arrival of HP as title partner for the coming seasons, so that as from this race, the team will be competing in the Grands Prix under the name of Scuderia Ferrari HP.

“The dominant colour of the new title partner’s logo is a perfect fit with the theme chosen by the Maranello marque for the week in Miami.”

Coinciding with the livery reveal, Scuderia Ferrari HP Team Principal Fred Vasseur said he “can’t wait for us to start working [with HP] from this weekend”.

HP debuts as Ferrari’s title sponsor from Miami onwards, also featuring on the SF-24.

“The upcoming Miami Grand Prix will be one to remember in the history of our team, as in Florida we will be celebrating our heritage through a unique livery, rediscovering two colours that are part of our history,” Vasseur said.

“Scuderia Ferrari and HP share many values, including a winning mentality and a clear line of thought that forms the basis of our partnership.

“Our two companies always strive for excellence and embrace technological innovation, key elements in achieving our respective goals.

“Like us, HP believes in the importance of ensuring that everyone in its organisation can give of their best, as that’s the only way to get great results.

“In addition, we believe in the need to nurture talent, teaching and empowering people as exemplified by our Driver Academy.

“With so many things in common, we believe that HP’s title partnership will greatly benefit both marques.”

The new-look SF-24 will make its first on-track appearance at the Miami International Autodrome on Friday, which translates to 2:30 AM, May 4, AEST.

We’re back from our weekend in Taupo (Tow Paw), and what an unbelievable first weekend for that venue. It was, we felt, the start of this season, too, despite it being the third round. Andrew and Bruce were there, and PG was on the couch.

Brodie Kostecki was back for Erebus, Andre Heimgartner won for Brad Jones Racing, and Will Brown battled his teammate Broc Feeney for the other win. Anton De Pasquale also won the Jason Richards Trophy for the best performer over the two races – is Dick Johnson Racing back?
