Robotham takes Asian GT opportunity
Supercars co-driver Jaylyn Robotham will expand his horizons into the GT World Challenge Asia series in 2024.
Now based in Thailand driving the Thailand Super Series full time, the 21-year-old will also have a crack at GT racing.
Robotham will steer a Mercedes AMG with Chinese driver Min Heng in the season that includes a race on familiar turf at the Chang International Circuit whilst also heading to former Formula 1 circuits Sepang and Fuji.
Climax Racing was crowned Porsche Carrera Cup Asia champions and also took out the Am title in the GT World Challenge Asia thanks to Chinese drivers Ye Bian and Hu Yuqi.
Robotham brings extra Australian presence to the championship that also includes Triple Eight Race Engineering, Melbourne Performance Centre and AMAC Motorsport.
He is staying sharp ahead of a third endurance drive later this year and first for Brad Jones Racing alongside Bryce Fullwood.
Robotham is excited to get stuck into the new challenge.

“It’s awesome to be able to lock in these races with Climax Racing in GT World Challenge Asia, they are a very professional team in a super competitive championship,” said Robotham.
“GT racing in Asia is a big deal – the fields are typically large with some different machinery to what we normally see in Australia.
“Also, the series attracts a lot of international interest with some big-name drivers from around the world involved.
“You always want to be able to test yourself against the best, and I think in this field, the level of competition is right up there.
“It’s always great to get as much seat time as possible, especially with the longer GT formats in play.
“Hopefully, the different programs this year will put me in good stead by the time the Supercars enduros roll around, and I can be on the pace at Bathurst.”
The season begins at Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit on April 19-21 before heading to Chang on May 10-12 and Fuji on June 21-23.
