FOLLOWING his Trophy Race win in the Touring Car Masters opening round at Bathurst 500, competitor Danny Buzadzic has a new Torana on the way.
Buzadzic told Auto Action he is building a new race car for the fan-favourite category, after a massive crash into the fence at the Adelaide 500 in 2023.
“[After the crash] I got a lot of people from outside who jumped in and called saying they wanted to help out which was really nice,” he said. “But parts were a bit of an issue.

“It was a last-minute fix [for Bathurst], nothing was easy. We rebuilt it all and fixed the car in general; new frame, suspension, quarter panels and guards.
“We’re building another car now, and it will be fantastic. It’s the exact same car, a Torana hatchback.”
He said the major engineering work is well underway.
“Hopefully we will be done in eight weeks and in the new car to race after the Darwin round,” Buzadzic said. “It will be flash.”

It’s an exciting time for Buzadzic who said he received an overwhelming amount of calls and messages after his Bathurst Trophy Race success in his very resilient Torana.
“We are at a Supercars round, and I think being here is the best thing ever,” he said. “It is so much fun. It is great being a support class to Supercars.”
The second round of Touring Car Masters for 2024 is at Wanneroo Raceway in Perth from May 17 to 19, and you can read all about TCM’s big come back in the latest edition of Auto Action magazine.
