WITH a new-look Ford Mustang, Trans Am driver Josh Webster will head into round two of the series in his home state this weekend.

Competing as part of the Race Tasmania program at Symmons Plains from 15 to 17 March, the Dream Racing Australia-backed competitor is contesting the category for a second year.

He recently won the Pro-Am class at the opening round of the 2024 series at Sandown, and was formerly backed by Owen Kelly.

“The debut of the Mustang couldn’t have gone much better,” he said. “We went faster and faster as the weekend went on.

“Now that it has had a makeover and we’ve done some testing at Symmons Plains, we’re excited to reveal the new livery at Baskerville for the opening event of AWC Race Tasmania.”

Webster’s signwriters are Hobart-based and have wrapped his #200 Mustang to highlight his current major sponsor, Document Management Tasmania.

“It’s pretty similar to how Owen [Kelly] had it, but we’ve put our own look and design into it,” he said.

“Document Management Tasmania and Signwriting Hobart have delivered the goods.

“It will look great, both on and off-track, including on the live coverage on Seven.”

Webster has been testing his car at Symmons Plains, with support from Dream Racing’s Cameron Fisher.

“It was great to have those test laps,” Webster said. “We had an extensive test program, which we were able to get through and we emerged happy from it.

“We can’t wait to see how we stack up next weekend.”

Race Tasmania’s program of action also includes Tassie Tin Tops, TCR, Hyundai Excels, and drift cars. Visit racetasmania.com.au for more information.

Hooray, F1 is back. Boo, Max Verstappen wins. The Bahrain Grand Prix was a little underwhelming, but at least there was racing… and scandal. There was plenty of scandel, but we don’t do that stuff apparently, so we don’t talk about Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner and Jos Verstappen.
