Replica Tourers on their way to Victoria

Replica Tourers Trophy Series

By Thomas Miles

The growing Replica Tourers Trophy Series has announced it will expand into Victoria in the near future.

Since starting in 2020, the Replica Tourers Trophy Series has grown to host 66 cars in its current Queensland Series that will begin next month.

Now in 2024 it is looking to expand into Victoria after finalising negotiations with a Bendigo based entity to establish Replica Tourers Trophy Series Victoria.

The new Victorian chapter will be headed by well-known state and national racing identities Gary O’Brien and Jacqui Carroll.

Both O’Brien and Carroll have a wealth of experience of being involved across a number of levels and forms of motorsport including building vehicles and category management.

All sorts of famous colours have appeared in the Replica Tourers including Rick Kelly’s 2012 livery.

Currently they are involved in the resurgence of Touring Car Masters which successfully started its season at Bathurst.

In 2024 the Replica Tourers Trophy Series will focus on set up and marketing within Victorian motor racing circles plus work with the various tracks to be able to construct a calendar and form a grid.

Replica Tourers Trophy Series category manager and series founder Brian Smallwood it is the latest part of the series’ growth.

“Since RTTS’ inception in 2020, we have been inundated with interest from other states wanting to see RTTS head further south to bring an interesting and diverse range of touring type cars to the track in one series,” he said.

“With 66 registered cars now in the Qld series and drawing significant support from all local tracks, we felt the time was right to expand.

“Gary and Jacqui had originally expressed interest to Ian Woodward from Fataz Competition Engines who ultimately joined the dots for us.

Cars of all shapes and sizes appear in the Replica Tourers Trophy Series.

“While we had several expressions of interest to take it on for Victoria, we really liked the vision and passion Gary and Jacqui showed which greatly aligned with the direction myself and the management team have for RTTS’ future growth.”

The 2024 Replica Tourers Trophy Series begins at Queensland Raceway on April 5-7.
