Bowe states TCM ‘alive and well’

By Thomas Miles

Despite not being on the Touring Car Masters grid for the first time in 16 years, John Bowe believes the category “alive and well”.

Bowe is a TCM legend, being a six-time champion but fans now have to get used to the racing taking place without him.

It started the new era with a bang at Bathurst by producing an entertaining Trophy Race won by Danny Buzadzic as he held off Angus Fogg’s Mustang.

Bowe put up a passionate post stating that even though he is away, he believes the category is “alive and well”.

“To some of the knockers of Touring Car Masters, I can only surmise that there must be some form of jealousy going on!” Bowe said.

“TCM is alive and well and starting the season this weekend at the Supercars Bathurst 500 meeting. So lots of eyeballs and marketing opportunities!

“Unfortunately I won’t be on the grid for the first time in 12 odd years, but I have a full dance card for Saturday and Sunday giving Fastrack Hot lap adventure rides at Sydney Motorsport Park.

“My very long racing life is now taking me on a new journey and a new challenge. It’s good to keep the racing brain active, and the GT4 series will do that with my friend’s at Randle Racing.

“TCM cars around Bathurst are mega adventurous. Wishing good fortune to all my TCM friends this weekend.

Touring Car Masters continues with race 2 at 08.50 AEDT Saturday morning.
