GT champion and Supercars stars to race for Ferrari

Mostert

By Thomas Miles

GT World Challenge Australia champion Liam Talbot and Supercars full-timers Chaz Mostert and Jaxon Evans will race a Ferrari in 2024.

The trio plus bronze driver Elliott Schutte will race two Ferrari 296 GT3s in the 2024 GT World Challenge Australia season for Arise Racing GT.

Talbot raced his way to the title driving an Audi last year but will now steer for the famous “prancing horse” for the first time.

The success of 2023 and the dream of racing in red means Talbot is “more motivated than ever” to collect more trophies.

“I am more motivated than ever to be part of this exciting journey with Arise Racing GT” after last year’s Championship win, and excited about the new team,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to the challenges ahead with a new car debut in Australia but have full faith in the very strong team assembled.”

Mostert will bring a serious amount of star power to the Australian based Ferrari team, having been one of the leading Supercars of the last decade since his special debut season in 2013.

The quartet will race the stunning Ferrari 296 GT3.

In addition to his commitments racing a Ford Mustang for Walkinshaw Andretti United, Mostert will stay sharp driving a Ferrari 296 GT3 in the GT World Challenge.

He will also take on this weekend’s Bathurst 12 Hour for his own team in a McLaren.

Mostert has already formed a racing relationship with Talbot and can’t wait to renew it.

“I’ve driven with Liam a few times and it’s awesome to be teaming up again, and hopefully we can put a good championship together,” said Mostert.

Whilst Evans is making his Supercars debut in a Chevrolet Camaro this year, the BJR Kiwi has extensive experience racing GT around the world.

But almost all of these races on famous tracks such as Le Mans, Spa and Monaco have come driving exclusively a Porsche.

Jaxon Evans has an exciting 2024 ahead racing Supercars and a Ferrari.

So the thought of racing a Ferrari is an extremely exciting proposition for Evans.

“(It’s) an exciting project with all the right ingredients, fuels my excitement for the season ahead,” Evans said.

“I’m pretty pumped to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari 296 GT3 car, at some of the best circuits in the country. The car is a work of art that has already accomplished big results in European, US competition.

“Everybody’s a Ferrari fan, even if they say they’re not!”

The 2024 GT World Challenge Australia season begins at Phillip Island on April 12-14.
