GRM snares Toyota 86 champ Casha, Cameron continues

Garry Rogers Motorsport has secured reigning Toyota 86 Series champion Ryan Casha, who will begin a new chapter in 2024 in TCR, while Aaron Cameron is staying on to chase a championship.
Casha will join regular Cameron in GRM colours in the 2024 Supercheap Auto TCR Australia season where they will both steer a Peugeot 308.
The 19-year-old is on a high after taking out the 2023 Toyota 86 Series crown at Bathurst.
In his second full time season in the category, Casha was ultra consistent collecting 10 podiums from races and four wins.

A clutch performance in a tight title showdown at the Bathurst finale meant he did enough to overcome Campbell Logan by 128 points.
In addition to his Toyota efforts, Casha also finished second in the A2 class at the Bathurst 6 Hour and has a number of Hyundai Excel wins since ditching rugby to go racing.
After being welcomed at GRM’s Combine, Casha is excited to begin his TCR journey in 2024 driving the #79 GRM Peugeot.
“I’m stoked to be joining the GRM family alongside a well-established teammate in Aaron Cameron,” he said.

“I have an expansive wealth of knowledge at my disposal in Aaron and the team, which I’m sure will prove highly beneficial as we progress throughout the season.
“These cars are a significant contrast to the Toyota 86 from last year, however after spending a couple of days with the team I’m feeling comfortable and super confident that we will be competitive this year.
“Personally, I have high expectations moving into this year, but strong and consistent finishes are my main goal.
“Everyone at GRM has been extremely welcoming and I’m excited to get under way in a couple of weeks.”

Aaron Cameron will be back in the GRM Peugeot.
The confirmation of Cameron is also big news for GRM as he suits up for a fifth TCR Australia campaign.
Ever since making his debut in 2019, the driver from Ferntree Gully has been one of the category’s stars.
He finished third in his rookie season before moving to GRM in 2021 and getting all six podiums on offer at Mount Panorama that year.
Last year Cameron scored six straight podium finishes and momentarily led the championship during a wild Bathurst finale before a heartbreaking retirement reduced him to fourth.
In 2023 Cameron also had a crack at Super2 making three starts in Sandown, Bathurst and Adelaide where he finished in the top 10 in all six races.

Desptie chasing the Supercars dream, staying in TCR is a big tick for both GRM and TCR.
All up he has seven wins in the category and will be hungry to get his hands on that elusive TCR Australia championship crown.
“It’s great to be back with GRM and Valvoline for another season, we were right in the fight for the championship until the last race of the season in 2023,” said Cameron.
“We have a very good understanding of the current car with the team and I will be aiming high for the 2024 series in what looks like a very competitive field.
“It’s great to have a new teammate in Ryan come into the Valvoline fold, he has shown some great speed in his run at the GRM combine and will provide some valuable data for the team. I look forward to having the two team Valvoline cars on the podium.”
