Dubbo brings NSW some more Sprintcar relief

Following the great news of the Sydney Dragway taking up the embattled Eastern Creek Speedway lease, the revitalised Morris Park Speedway in Dubbo will bring some more welcome Sprintcar action back to the state this weekend.
The revitalised Speedway in Dubbo, 5 hours west of the Sydney CBD, will welcome a capacity crowd this weekend for its first Sprintcars event since February of 2022, but organisers have also announced that they will keep a keen eye on some forecasted rain.
The Dubbo City Speedway Club will play host to the first Sprintcar Association of NSW (SANSW) sanctioned event of the season, with support from the Wingless sprints, SSA Production Sedans, and RSA Junior Sedans.
As was the case recently with Victoria’s Mildura Speedway, an army of dedicated workers and volunteers have toiled endlessly over the past 12 months in bringing big upgrades to the venue, which includes a completely resurfaced track, and freshly laid and painted inner-concrete kerbing.

It’s also a hats-off moment to the SANSW, with its new appointed committee members taking a fresh approach in recognising the vital importance of regional tracks.
Whilst NSW Sprintcar racing still remains in limbo on a bigger scale, with the Sydney Dragway providing some light at the end of the tunnel, the Sprintcar nominations for this weekend has reached a field of 28, with many making the long 755 km journey from their last event in Lismore.
Among some of the names heading southwest from the Lismore outing is hometown racer Mark Blyton for a cameo appearance in the Bohud Racing NS14, and Jessie Attard, who stormed to a sensational maiden feature victory at the Lismore Speedway last weekend.

Attard will be looking to bring his Lismore Speedway form to Dubbo this weekend
Some others named to be making the trip will be frequent travellers Alex Orr, Brendan Scorgie, Lachlan Caunt, Tyler Burnham, Zac Pacchariotta and Queensland’s Libby Ellis.
Spectators planning on attending are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets with the gates opening at 5pm with a scheduled 6pm start.
