IRC and PACE to surge forward in new deal

By Timothy Neal

Innovation Race Cars (IRC) is now the exclusive seller of the newly renamed IRC GT car, designed by Yatala Engineering outfit PACE Innovations.

Based out of Yatala, Queensland, the PACE Innovations is an engineering company involved in meeting both the development of high-volume projects and one-off prototypes, and with Paul Ceprnich at the helm, has been involved in Supercars projects for a long time, including being the builders of the majority of the current Supercars Gen3 chassis and MARC Cars that have raced both locally and around the world.

IRC has been formed by business partners Rob Woods and Danny Stutterd. Woods founded the extremely successful TekworkX Motorsport team, for which Stutterd currently drives in Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia. The pair also combine for over 50 years of experience in business management.

The new IRC GT car made by PACE innovations will be a formidable on track machine both at home and internationally

Woods has created and continues to manage a wide variety of businesses, with focus in construction, before he set up his Gold Coast based Motorsport team in 2021. Stutterd is a highly successful property development manager, responsible for some of Australia’s biggest companies in the sector.

The IRC GT car has already been produced and sold to multiple competitors around Australia since the first chassis was completed in March this year. TekworkX Motorsport recently contested Chassis #003 at The Bend Motorsport Park, where Max Vidau and Stutterd steered the car to pole position and a race win in the MARC Cars Australia Championship.

Featuring an LS3 engine producing 565 horsepower, a striking front splitter and rear wing, plus a carefully crafted rear diffuser, the IRC GT is a natural challenger to GT3 lap records around the country. Built to GT3 specifications, the car is eligible to compete in a wide array of competitions across Australia and the world.

IRC founder Danny Stutterd said the opportunity to pair up with PACE was too good not to be a part of.

“We saw an opportunity with an exceptional concept…an Australian made race car that takes on the world’s best, with high performance at a fraction of the price and running cost of others. It made perfect sense and certainly has a place in the race car world,” Stutterd said.

“After getting to drive the IRC GT, it made even more sense to take this opportunity.”

Likewise, co-founder Rob Woods gave his thoughts on the partnership.

“Together with Danny we share an exceptional passion for motor racing,” Woods related.

“That passion drove us into this partnership, and the IRC GT was a logical step for us to make our mark with Innovation Race Cars. The blend of power and downforce makes it an exceptional car and it’s versatile enough to be enjoyed by both professional and pro-am drivers.

“We’re both incredibly excited for the future of this car in Australian and global motorsport.”

Interest in the car has already been high, with more chassis sold in recent weeks, while a test day for prospective competitors is being held later this year. Further enquiries can reach out at [email protected]
