Bumper 2023 Adelaide 500 schedule sealed

By Thomas Miles

There will be wall to wall on track action at the 2023 VAILO Adelaide 500 with seven categories going racing across four days in a jam-packed schedule.

In addition to Supercars which will continue with the popular and traditional two 78-lap race program with Top 10 Shootouts, the Dunlop Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, Touring Car Masters, GT World Challenge, S5000 and V8 SuperUte Series also on the supports card.

All seven categories will be on track on each of the four days of the famous race which returns having made a memorable comeback last year.

The track schedule has been finalised following the announcement the V8 SuperUte Series will return to the streets of Adelaide.

The utes will be racing in a non-championship capacity and take on the Adelaide 500 for the first time in the current V8 era, replacing Aussie Racing Cars. They will contest four races chasing the Go Sunny Tradies Cup.

The popular Touring Car Masters category will return to the Supercars stage with four races including the Trophy Race opener.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Australia will draw the curtain on an exciting season where Callum Hedge and Jackson Walls are in the middle of a tense title fight.

S5000 brings some open-wheel action back to the former home of the Australian Grand Prix with three 20 minute races offering an exciting conclusion to the Tasman Series.

Another returning category from 2022 is the GT World Challenge, which will also draw a close on a tight championship battle across three 40-minute races.

Just 30 points separate Zak Best and Kai Allen in the Super2 standings and they will go head to head in a fascinating Dunlop Series finale.

In Super3 South Australia’s Jobe Stewart will be aiming to secure the title on home soil as the Dunlop Series will continue with its familiar two 40-minute race format.

These categories will ensure fans will be thoroughly entertained before Supercars go racing across 78 laps on the streets which Chaz Mostert and Broc Feeney ruled under sunny skies last year.

The VAILO Adelaide 500 will be the 12th round of the Supercars championship, following the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 on October 27-29.
