Reynolds and Grove Racing part ways

David Reynolds will not be suiting up for Grove Racing after the team made the news official following the Bend SuperSprint.
The announcement brings an end to a three-year stint between Reynolds and the Ford squad, which started in 2021 after the 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner left Erebus one year into a decade-long deal.
They have scored 10 podiums together with second their best result at Albert Park and Gold Coast in 2022.
It is widely rumoured Reynolds is on the move for the fourth time in his career as Scott Pye’s replacement at Team 18 and Grove Racing released the news with a short statement.
“Penrite Racing will not be renewing David Reynolds’ contract for 2024. We wish Dave the best in his future endeavours,” it read.
Reynolds was the face of the team as its sole driver in 2021 and scored a podium in their second round together at Sandown.

However, after missing half of the Sydney quadruple header due to not being vaccinated under COVID-19 restrictions, he could only finish 18th in the championship with no more podiums.
Now with Lee Holdsworth for company as teammate, Reynolds and Grove Racing were a much more potent force in 2022.
The #26 was a regular on the rostrum in the first half of the year collecting six trophies in the first 14 races.
Despite staying in and around the top 10 for most of the remainder of the season, only one more podium arrived at the Gold Coast.
Reynolds finished eighth in the championship, which is his best result in the last four years.

David Reynolds’ first drive for Grove Racing was the 2021 Mount Panorama 500.
The Gen3 era started brightly with a pole and a podium in Newcastle, while he also took another third at Perth.
At that stage things were looking rosy with Reynolds sixth in the drivers and Grove third in the teams standings.
But the season has fallen apart since then with only three of a possible 26 top 10 finishes recorded by the team.
Reynolds and Grove Racing have slumped 10 and seven positions respectively in the drivers and teams championships.
Despite showing more promising pace at The Bend, the weekend ended in disappointment with Reynolds being penalised for spinning Broc Feeney.

Now the pair head into their last endurance campaign together as Reynolds hunts for a new drive with Grove Racing joining Walkinshaw Racing, Kelly Racing, Ford Performance Racing and Erebus Motorsport as his former teams.
