Richard Childress Racing engineer Andrew Dickeson has joined a special NASCAR edition of the Auto Action RevLimiter Podcast and revealed Brodie Kostecki is already taking charge, spearheading the team’s Indianapolis assault.
Dickeson had a long, detailed and open chat with Andrew Clarke and Bruce Williams as the team prepares for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard where Supercars Championship leader Kostecki joins RCR regulars Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon.

Despite his American accent, Dickeson actually hails from Melbourne and worked with Terry Wyhoon before jumping across the Pacific in 2008 and becoming Busch’s engineer during his decade-long stint at RCR.
The chat expanded from the NASCAR engineer’s early days in Australia to Kostecki’s time at RCR, the impact of Shane van Gisbergen’s win and many more interesting topics.
Dickeson revealed Kostecki made a strong impression as soon as he arrived at RCR and is already steering the team’s “direction” for the big race with 63-time Cup Series race winner Busch off site.
“He did his seat fitting and got comfortable in the car Friday morning and then we went into the simulator that afternoon,” he recalled on the podcast.
“Everyone was thinking he was going to be jet lagged and worn out and terrible but he brought his A game, he did a hell of a job.
“He picked it up so quick and was really, really fast and he did great and helped make us better.
“We were back on the simulator on Monday, pushing a little bit harder and made some good progress there and will be back on it again this afternoon for his final session (on Wednesday).
“Kyle’s out of town this week and couldn’t come, so we’re using Brody to kind of give us a direction on where we need to be at.”

'description' => 'The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship, is the premier motorsport category in Australasia and one of Australia\'s biggest sports. It originated from the Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC), which held its first race in 1960 at Gnoo-Blas in Orange, New South Wales. The ATCC evolved over the years, and in 1997, it was rebranded as the V8 Supercars Championship, eventually becoming the Supercars Championship we know today.
Some of the leading drivers in the history of the Supercars Championship include Peter Brock, who is often referred to as the "King of the Mountain" for his nine victories at the Bathurst 1000, a race that is considered one of the biggest in the series. Other notable drivers include Dick Johnson, Marcos Ambrose, Craig Lowndes, Shane van Gisbergen, Jamie Whincup, who holds the record for the most championship titles, and Mark Skaife, who has also been a dominant force in the series.
The Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama Circuit in Bathurst, New South Wales, is arguably the most famous race in the Supercars calendar. Other significant races include the Sandown 500 and the Adelaide 500, which are known for their challenging circuits and thrilling competitions.
The Supercars Championship has grown to become a globally recognized series, known for its competitive racing and passionate fan base. It continues to be a major part of Australia\'s motorsport culture, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world.',
