Aussie debut livery revealed for Lynk & Co 03 TCR

By Timothy Neal

The livery for the Lynk & Co 03 TCR car that British driver Tom Oliphant will steer for its Australian debut, has been unveiled ahead of this weekend’s race.

The SuperCheap Auto TCR Australia series will have a new challenger in Round 2, with the Ashley Seward Motorsport Lynk & Co 03 to be raced by former British Touring Car driver, Tom Oliphant, after making his debut series appearance in Round 1, where he drove an Alfa Romeo TCR.

Oliphant has already taken the new Lynk & Co 03 TCR car through its paces, which will be the first of its kind to race in Australia. The car was manufactured by the Chinese-Swedish automobile group Lynk & Co – a joint venture between the Geely Auto Group and the Volvo Car group.

The brand has been immediately successful in motorsport, having already won seven world titles in TCR since it began racing in 2019, recently claiming a 1-2 finish in the opening round of the newly formed TCR World Tour in Portugal.

Oliphant will be the first driver to race the new Lynk & Co 03 in the Australian TCR series

“It’s super exciting to finally have the car fully liveried up and looking its best ahead of round two,” Oliphant said.

“The car looks phenomenal and will certainly stand out amongst the TCR Australia field. I was able to do some testing in the car a couple of weeks ago and was extremely impressed by it.

“The Lynk & Co feels like a proper race car, and it’s clear that a lot of time and money has been spent in its development.”

Team owner, Ashley Seward, thanked their main sponsors Autoglym, in helping to make the project come to fruition, and indicated that the team is feeling settled ahead of this weelend’s TCR racing.

The new Lynk & Co TCR 03 car was on track for pre-event testing ahead of this weekends Round 2

“Our livery for the Autoglym Lynk & Co does a superb job in highlighting how incredible this race car looks,” Seward commented.

“They’ve been huge supporters of our program in TCR and I’m really excited to hopefully reward them with a strong showing this weekend.

“The test day we completed highlighted a lot of speed in the car, and got the crew accustomed to working with the new machinery. It’s much more aligned with what Tom has driven previously which is a big benefit, and the laps he logged at what was another new circuit for him will be of great value.”
