Ferrari Driver Academy open for business

The Ferrari Driver Academy for the Asia Pacific and Oceania regions has opened up applications through Motorsport Australia for young formulae aspirants.
Drivers between 14-17 years of age are invited to apply for 2023’s FDA program, which the Italian racing giant uses to search far and wide for its potential future champions.

The final for the Asia Pacific region is held in Sepang Malaysia, where young drivers will be put through their paces in Gen2 F4 machinery prepared by Top Speed, with the Sydney based AGI Sport academy also overseeing the proceedings.

Young Formulae aspirants will be tested in Sepang for a chance to go to the FDA world finals in Maranello
After testing at Sepang, two world finalists are then selected to join the other world region finalist in Maranello, Italy, where the winners will be placed into the FDA to then compete in Europe and around the world.
Aussie speedster James Wharton – the recent UAE F4 champion, and current Italian F4 competitor – won selection into the FDA in 2020 through the Motorsport Australia run program, and now lives on base in Maranello with drivers from all around the world, such as his Prema teammate and Finnish young gun, Tuukka Taponen.
Last year, two more Australians won their way to the world finals – AGI Sport Academy members Jack Beeton and Gianmarco Pradel – who now both compete in the Italian F4 alongside Wharton.
