GB3/GB4 Aussies to race at Silverstone

After their debut GB3/GB4 weekend at England’s Oulton Park, Aussie trio Costa Toparis, Cooper Webster and Jack Clifford will race at the Silverstone GP circuit this weekend.
Toparis, the youngest driver on the grid, took to the track with Rodin Carlin in his GB3 season debut, and after getting caught up in some Race 1 carnage, he recovered beautifully in trying conditions with a P7 and P6.
“All in all, I’m very satisfied with how my debut in the GB3 Championship went last weekend,” Said the highly rated 16-year-old.
“It has been a big learning curve for me, but the Rodin Carlin team has supported me well and prepared me for this moment.
“I’m looking forward to Silverstone. The team has given me a good, balanced car and there’s a lot of positives to take from here.”

After being involved in a Race 1 incident, Toparis hit back with straight top-tens.
It should also be noted that Toparis entered his debut round shortly after experiencing a tragic loss in his family, and AUTO ACTION commends the young ace on his performance under such trying personal circumstances.
In the GB4 Championship, another two Aussies made their Euro race debuts at Oulton Park, and along with Toparis, will take on the historic Silverstone GP circuit for their first times.
Webster, a race winner and consistent front runner in Australia’s S5000 series, scored a debut podium in the #37 Evans GP F4-T014.
The young Victorian was up for the fight in Race 1 and despite the KMR frontrunners getting away early, he clawed them back in whilst also grimly defending his podium with success (all those races with Joey Mawson on his tail gave him good practice).
In wet conditions he finished off with a P11 and P9 to finish his debut weekend off, and now heads to Silverstone with some valuable experience and confidence under his belt, sitting sixth in the championship.
As well as it being Webster’s first race experience in the F4 world, it was also the first for the Australian run Evans GP team, showing good signs of settling in ahead of Silverstone.

Fellow Aussie Jack Clifford was picked up fresh from Victorian Formula Ford by Kevin Mills Racing (KMR), and performed impressively in his debut appearance in the 1.4 L turbocharged machinery.
17-year-old Clifford was a consistent Vic Formula Ford podium getter in the latter half of 2022, and raced in one round of the national FF before making the trip to Europe for his debut F4 season.
He finished up scoring three top-ten at Oulton Park with finishes of P8, and a pair of P10’s to sit tenth in the championship to start his Euro junior career.
