Auto Action Magazine latest Issue – Supercars chief ‘goes on the record’

By Auto Action

The latest issue of AUTO ACTION is out now and loaded with must-read features and stories from the past two weeks of national and international motorsport.

The big story in this issue is the exclusive one-on-one interview with the biggest player in Supercars and the Chairman of Racing Australia Consolidated Enterprises, Barclay Nettlefold.

Nettlefold sat down with AUTO ACTION’s Editor in Chief and Publisher Bruce Williams to offer his perspective on the state of Supercars in an exclusive six-page feature, really taking the time to put forward his vision for the future of the sport.

Barclay Nettlefold speaks up in an EXCLUSIVE one-on-one interview in AUTO ACTION magazine feature.

Nettlefold, in his first big interview since AUTO ACTION spoke to him over 12 months ago, outlined the big plans that are in motion to improve the show and deliver higher profiles for the sport and the drivers.

He also talked about plans that RACE has to invest in the sport and in the potential of Supercars expansion beyond Australia and New Zealand, as well as the short and long term health of the sport, plus much much more…

Speaking of a return to New Zealand, Nettlefold confirmed just how important a Supercars race is to Kiwi Supercar fans and indeed to the sports sponsors…

And the race to replace Pukekohe as New Zealand’s new home of Supercars racing has a new leader, which is revealed by AUTO ACTION’s Andrew Clarke, who also reports on the Gen3 changes that Supercars have made following the Australian Grand Prix.

Also on Nettlefold…On the way he defended himself against the ‘lunatic’ gibe levelled recently by Roland Dane, confessing that he probably was one of the “lunatic or two rolling around the paddock (at Albert Park)”.

These two heavy hitters-Barclay Nettlefold and Roland Dane, are worlds apart in their opinion as to the future of an overseas return to racing for Supercars. It could be sooner than Danes wants.

Also in this issue, we had a chat with Supercars rookie Cameron Hill, where he gives a feel for what it is like to drive the Gen3 Camaro.
