First Lynk & Co TCR arrives down under

The first Lynk & Co 03 TCR has arrived in Australia ahead of its Supercheap Auto TCR Australia debut at Phillip Island next month.
Ashley Seward Motorsport will be the team racing with the Lynk & Co badge with British Touring Car Championship race winner Tom Oliphant behind the wheel.
Oliphant showed strong form in an Alfa Romeo at Tasmania and currently sits fifth in the standings to be well placed for the brand’s debut.
The Lynk & Co 03 TCR chassis is an ex Cyan Racing machine, having previously raced in the FIA World Touring Car Cup and has a Volvo JLH-4G20TD engine under the bonnet.
Before arriving at the ASM workshop, the chassis received an extensive rebuild and will be put to the test at Phillip Island in a plain white livery later this month.
Lynk & Co is a joint venture between the Chinese based Geely Global and well-known Swedish manufacturer Volvo and was founded in 2016.
On the race track, Link & Co has enjoyed international success in TCR with back-to-back WTCR drivers’ titles with Frenchman Yann Ehrlacher.
ASM team owner Ashley Seward said he was thrilled to get his hands on the new car with the team “blown away” by its “exceptional craftsmanship”.
“I’m absolutely ecstatic to have taken delivery of our Lynk & Co 03 TCR ahead of Round 2 at Phillip Island,” said Seward.
“On first impression, we’re blown away by the car. It’s built like a tank and features exceptional craftsmanship. We’re really excited to get to work on preparing it for Lynk & Co’s track debut down under.
“We have a test day lined up later in the month where we’ll put the car through its paces and get Tom (Oliphant) accustomed to the new machinery.”
Lynk & Co’s debut in the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia will take place at Phillip Island on May 12-14.
