New backer for Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship

By Thomas Miles

The Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship will take on a slightly different look in 2023 with Polaris stepping up as its new major sponsor.

The series now known as the Polaris Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship begins soon with the brand new Markwell Gold Group Gold City 450 at Charters Towers on March 10-12.

It will continue over a five round season with the Pooncarie Desert Clash in New South Wales on April 21-23.

The crown jewell of the calendar will be the Fine Desert Race taking place in the Northern Territory on June 10-12.

The series then heads down to South Australia for the Loveday 400 on July 28-30 before a three-month break to the season finale – the Kalgoorlie Desert Race in Western Australia on October 19-22.

Polaris is a natural fit for the championship being a prominent international manufacturer, with a large amount of sales in both Australia and New Zealand.

It was also a major sponsor of the SXS Motorsport Australia Championship in 2015, which has since integrated to the Motorsport Australia Off Road Championship.

“To have Polaris not only continue its support of the AORC, but to increase its presence and commit as a major partner for the 2023 season is a boost for the Championship,” Smith said.

“On behalf of Motorsport Australia, I’d like to thank Kris (Matich) and the whole Polaris Australia and New Zealand team for their continued support of the AORC.

“We highly value this partnership and look forward to seeing more Polaris vehicles in the biggest off road championship around the country.”
