Soutar takes lid off Tufflift TCR Audi

By Timothy Neal

Zac Souter will go into this year’s TCR Australia series with a menacing looking Tufflift Racing livery on his latest generation Audi RS3 LMS.

The race winning privateer who goes with a family run operation has enjoyed plenty of support from Tufflift.

It’s been a rapid preparation since Tufflift Racing picked up the new Audi from Gibson Freight last week, as the family team, together with many volunteers, chipped in to ensure it was prepared for its maiden appearance at Symmons Plains.

“I’m thrilled to present this amazing Tufflift Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR,” Soutar proudly declared.

“We’ve put a huge effort in once we got the car last Wednesday to wrap it up and get it all nice.

“It’s a huge testament to the team at National Print Group for making it look as beautiful as it does as well as SS Design in completing the original render of the livery and I think it’s going to look great on track this year.

“We’re very fortunate to have many for the same partners as last year crossing over into 2023 as well as Tufflift Hoists there is Spicers Australia, EcoCleanFM, Flying Brick Cider Co and Speedsocket.

“We have also some new sponsors including Discount Electrical Supplies Electrical Wholesalers and Newgrove Benchtops.

“I’m very excited to have these partners involved and I hope we can have a great year.”

Along with his new Audi, Soutar is tipped to figure strongly in this year’s TCR battle after finishing sixth in the outright standings in 2022.

Tasmania’s Symmons Plains was good to him last year, picking up a maiden TCR win, before adding three further podiums throughout the year in a Honda Civic Type R.

Only two TCR racers will have the new generation Audi this year, with Supercars driver Will Brown  the other, after inheriting his chassis from fellow driver Jay Hanson, and having it rebuilt by the Melbourne Performance Centre.

All of the racing action can be seen live and ad-break free on Stan Sport, plus free-to-air coverage on 9GEM on Saturday, February 25 from 2-5pm, with Round 1 of the 2023 SpeedSeries on February 24-26.
