Hazelwood reveals second BRT GEN3 Supercars drive

By Thomas Miles

Blanchard Racing Team and Todd Hazelwood will put its Ford Mustang Gen3 Supercar through its paces for a second time at Winton tomorrow.

The news was revealed by driver Hazelwood, who took to social media to share his excitement about the opportunity of steering a Gen3 racecar in anger for a second time before many have even revealed the finished product.

BRT hit the headlines Wednesday last week when the little single-car team became the first to shakedown its 2023 challenger.

As many teams were busy still putting their cars together, BRT one of the smallest and newest teams on the grid, rolled out a bright-blue Mustang.

After completing a Shakedown last week, the team is renter gather more information on the new beast at a test session tomorrow in Winton and Hazelwood could not contain his excitement.

“The BRT crew working their magic and getting ready for a big day of testing tomorrow at Winton,” the 27-year-old said on Twitter with a photo of his #3 Mustang at the team’s workshop.

Hazelwood also posted a video on Instagram of him polishing the Ford badge on the bonnet with the line “ready for testing tomorrow.”

Other Ford squads Grove Racing and Dick Johnson Racing have also revealed their liveries, but are yet to hit the track.

However, DJR is also scheduled to complete a shakedown tomorrow at Queensland Raceway, while the Penrite backed team is yet to reveal its plans.

Triple Eight Race Engineering brought a Red Bull livered Chevrolet Camaro Gen3 car to the Bathurst 12 Hour, but it is believed to be a Supercars owned prototype rather than a race chassis.

With BRT conducting a second on-track session before any have rolled out of the garage, it continues to be the pioneer in the road to Newcastle.
