Aussie Racing Cars announce 2023 calendar

By Timothy Neal

The Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Series (ARC) have announced its six round calendar for 2023.

The six round series includes four Supercars support slots, an exciting trip across the ditch to New Zealand, and a support spot at the Australian Super Bike Championship.

It opens its campaign at the Newcastle 500 where the series will be a part of the historic Gen3 Supercars debut on March 10-12.

For the second year running, the ARC will then head to the upgraded Queensland Raceway to support Australia’s premier Motorbike category, after doing so at Wakefield last year.

Over May, June, and July, the ARC will have a triple Supercars run at the Tasmanian SuperSprint, the Darwin Triple Crown, and then it’s back to Queensland for the Townsville 500.

Perhaps the highlight of the year will be the season finale when it heads to NZ to take part in the 10th birthday celebrations of Tony Quinn’s Highland Motorsport Park. The celebrations will feature a 6-hour GT endurance race as its main event.

The Aussie Race Cars will make a trip to the Highlands Motorpsort Park in NZ as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations

The NZ ARC race will also award its Trans-Tasman Cup at the event, after having its first round of it at the Adelaide 500, where it raced as a non-championship event support slot for the Supercars closer.

The 2023 series will also be enhanced by the biggest viewing platform it has ever enjoyed, with three of its events on free-to-air TV, and four on Foxtel and Kayo.

CEO of Aussie Racing Cars, Brad Ward, is excited by the strength of the 2023 calendar.

“We are thrilled to announce the 2023 Battery World Aussie Racing Cars Super Series and we’re proud  to have secured a calendar that incorporates a great mix of street circuits and permanent racetracks,” Ward said.

Events like Darwin, Townsville, Newcastle, Highlands are all great holiday locations, and have the  festival feel and atmosphere which all our drivers and teams absolutely love.”

Last season’s winner was Joshua Anderson in a Cooldrive Ford Mustang after a consistent four win season, over Lachlan Ward and Reece Chapman.
