The return of the Adelaide 500 will be accompanied by a flyover of an Australian Defence Force RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornet.
The aerial display will amplify the skies in spectacular fashion as Adelaide’s crown jewel race makes a comeback after being MIA for over 1000 days.
The RAAF Super Hornet will make the long trip from Amberley in Queensland and arrive over the Adelaide street circuit at 2:56pm on the Saturday, and again at 2:23pm on Sunday, December 4, where it will put on a showcase of its aerial handling.
The last flyover perfumed at an Adelaide 500 featured the now retired F/A-18A Classic Hornet, on February 23, 2020.

The RAAF F/A-18F Super Hornet will accompany the Supercars trip back to Adelaide on December 1-4
South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas says that the Australian Defence Force is integral to the spectacle of the event.
“I’m very pleased to welcome the F/A-18F Super Hornet to our skies for the VALO Adelaide 500,” the Hon Malinauskas said.
“The flyover is a spectacular part of the show for crowds of all ages. After a quiet couple of years, I’m sure the Super Hornet’s presence will be a highlight.”
In addition to the fast jet display, fans will have the chance to see military vehicles up close and speak to military personnel at the ADF’s interactive display of current in-service equipment, including an M1 Abrams Main Battle Tank and the new Hawkei.
Team Army, an initiative which focuses on increasing the awareness of the broad range of career opportunities within the Australian Army for men and women, will also be on site with Project Digger (1978 Ford LTD Supercharged V8 Ford) and Project Matilda (6×6 Mercedes G-wagon).
The VALO Adelaide 500 will take place from December 1 – 4 2022. Tickets are on sale via Ticketek.
