A unified SpeedSeries calendar has been announced for 2023, with Motorsport Australia and the Australian Racing Group (ARG) operating under a combined banner.

The two race bodies will work in collaboration to deliver and broadcast seven events around the country next year via Stan Sports and the Nine Network.

The series starts in Tasmania in February, and will also feature two visits to Mount Panorama with the Bathurst 6 Hour and the Supercheap Auto Bathurst International set for another return.

The calendar will also incorporate stops at the Queensland Raceway, SMP, and the historic Sandown International Speedway, with another Victorian venue to be confirmed for late May.

A wide range of fan-favourite categories will contest the events, such as the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series, Trans Am, S5000 Australian Drivers’ Championship, GT World Challenge Australia, Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, the Gulf Western Oil Touring Car Masters, Australian Production Cars, plus many more.

Along with the high profile events listed on the calendar, Motorsport Australia will also announce several smaller events with reduced broadcast footprint, allowing track time for a broader range of  other categories.

Liam Curkpatrick, Chief Operating Manager of ARG, spoke about the collected benefits to amalgamate with Motorsport Australia to host the events.

“Creating a single brand for the suite of ARG and Motorsport Australia categories to fall under made sense for all concerned, and it’s been a great collaboration with the team at Motorsport Australia to make it happen,” Curkpatrick said.

“It makes sense for the fans, partners, for the broadcasters and for the categories themselves who will be able to tell their own supporters, sponsors and followers that they are racing at a ‘SpeedSeries’ event wherever they go throughout the year.

Michael Smith, Director of Motorsport & Commercial Operation for Motorsport Australia, also gave his thoughts on the collaboration.

“We’re excited about what lies in store for the 2023 SpeedSeries,” Smith said.

“Next year sees the SpeedSeries take another step forward in its evolution, with a clear identity and more quality events that we will work closely with the team at ARG to deliver. It makes sense to have the one ‘SpeedSeries’ brand for both fans at the event and at home.

“We’re also really excited to be able to announce a number of other events alongside the SpeedSeries to provide even more track time and racing options for a range of national and state categories eager to compete on the national stage. We’ll share more about this news in the coming weeks.”
