SUPERCARS AND NATIONAL STARS TO TAKE ON THE EXCEL ENDURO AT QUEENSLAND RACEWAY

Stars from Supercars and other national categories, as well as several well-known names are set to join two enduros – Hyundai Excels and HQ Holdens – at Queensland Raceway this weekend.
Supercar drivers Brodie Kostecki, Declan Fraser, Aaron Seton, Nash Morris, Jaylyn Robotham and Kai Allen will step in as co-drivers with Track Attack Excel regulars for a two-driver non-championship 175 kilometre race. They will also be joined by the likes of Steve Owen, Ryan Hansford, Jett Johnson and Luke King.
The 2022 championship after three rounds is currently led by Ryan O’Sullivan over Jarrod Hughes, Caleb Paterson and Todd Wanless. O’Sullivan will have Sam McLaren (11th in the points) with him while Hughes will have Super3 points leader Kai Allen to hand over to.
Certainly ones to watch will be Wanless/Kostecki, sixth placed Bradi Owen with Fraser, and category stalwart Brett Parrish and Robotham. Before the enduro, there will be separate qualifying sessions and sprint races for both drivers in the 49 entered.
Meanwhile the one-hour enduro for HQs has also attracted a worthy line-up, including some interstaters. On the back of the Dale Youd Perpetual Trophy at Bathurst over the Easter Weekend, and the Nationals at Hidden Valley more recently, other events are attracting entries from outside their state.
Such is the situation at QR where Chris and Jason Molle from NSW, and Victorians Peter Coleman/Andrew Magilton, and Ryan and Brendon Woods will take on the Queenslanders. The locals will be bolstered by the Morris father and son. Paul will partner up with Joe Andriske while Nash joins Scott Andriske besides racing in Excels.
The are not the only family connections as Brandon and Jake Madden join forces along with Ryan and Brendon Woods, and Tim and Rod Boyle. Ellery brothers, Dalton and Tristian won’t team up, rather they will be rivals with Tye Gray and Warren Parker respectively.
Other categories on the two-day program include MARC Cars and Invited, Hot Hatches and Production Utes, and Australian Trans-Am.
