NEW BMW M4 GT4 ORDERS OPEN

BMW has made its soon to debut new M4 GT4 car available to customers as the official presentation of the new car occurred at Virginia International Raceway last weekend.

The new M4 is set to debut this year and is the successor to the successful M4 GT4 machine which has been raced around the world for a number of years.

The new machine has been priced at 187,000 euros, $282,673 Aussie dollars as of the date of this story’s publication.

The M4 GT4 has completed its testing program on the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife, with production set to commence later this year.

“We took on the challenge to develop a successor to the highly successful first-generation BMW M4 GT4,” said the CEO of BMW Motorsport (BMW M), Franciscus van Meel.

“Using a wide range of customer feedback, our experienced development team and the new sixth generation BMW M4 based production car has led to a faster, even more reliable and very emotional all new BMW M4 GT4.”

The previous spec M4 GT4 has raced successfully against its fellow German rival, the Mercedes-AMG GT4. The M4 GT4 has performed on Australian shores also, winning its class in the Bathurst 12 Hour.

The Mercedes-AMG GT4 is currently contesting GT World Challenge Australia.

BMW has stated that four key areas have been improved in the new model: performance, reliability, cost efficiency and maintainability.

Notably the ergonomics for the driver have also been updated as has the electronics in an effort to improve the customer experience.

BMW utilised what it has learnt in its successful GT3 car also, with a transfer of technology between the GT4 and GT3 models of the M4, road car components have been also adapted.

Currently the new-spec BMW M4 awaits homologation by the SRO, it is expected the M4 GT4 will feature in competition worldwide as it will again take on the legendary Nordschleife soon alongside an entry into the 24 Hours of Portimao.
