The Camaro will certainly look the part, taking on a black and gold Chevrolet paint scheme that will stand out around the 2.4km Symmons Plains Raceway.

Around the nation, the Gen3 platform has proved popular with fans since its public unveiling in December last year.

It is now less than 12 months until the Gen3 Camaro and Ford Mustang will make their race debut in 2023.

General Manager Chevrolet Racing Chris Payne is very much looking forward to seeing the new black livery on track.

The new Gen3 Chevrolet livery

“The new black livery design amps up the stealth factor another notch for the Camaro,” said Chris Payne, General Manager Chevrolet Racing.

“Chevrolet Racing is the new heart for the fans who have followed and celebrated more than 50 years of Holden success in touring car racing.”

The new Chevrolet Racing brand name is a dominant feature of the new livery and was designed to complement the Camaros aggressive muscle car appearance.

The Tasmanian round takes place from March 26-27 and will feature on track demonstrations on the prototypes.

The Camaro livery can be seen in person both on the track and in the pit garages at Symmons Plains as it was at Bathurst last year.

It is understood after the round, both the Camaro and Mustang will be driven at Symmons Plains as Supercars looks to see if the ergonomic changes made to improve Gen3 driver comfort has been successful.
