Supercars teams have confirmed that two wildcard entries will make their third scheduled appearance at the second Sydney Motorsport Park.

Both Walkinshaw Andretti United and Tickford Racing confirmed their intentions to run their final wildcard outing for Kurt Kostecki and Thomas Randle respectively at the second of four rounds at the Western Sydney venue.

After rounds at The Bend and Hidden Valley, both drivers will get the chance to race under lights at the Sydney SuperNight event on November 6-7.

“Really looking forward to my third wildcard event.” said Kostecki.

“Like everything this year, we’ve had a few different plans about when it will be, but it’s great to be locked in, and I can’t wait to get to SMP.”

“It’ll be a challenge with the rest of the field having a week’s extra running before we get there, but it’ll be good to lean on the team, Chaz and Bryce to get Car 27 up to speed as quickly as possible.”

“Night racing will be awesome as well, so I’m looking forward to getting it underway!”

For Randle, it will be much-needed extra seat time prior to the Bathurst 1000 where he will partner James Courtney before stepping up to his first full season in Supercars in 2022.

“Third time’s the charm, right?” said Randle.

“I’m very excited to join the field again in the Castrol Racing Mustang at the second Sydney event, especially with two night races on the schedule.”

“The racing at Sydney Motorsport Park is always really intense, so I’m looking forward to being in the thick of it with the main game guys and hopefully scoring a few more solid results.”

“The track looks fantastic under the lights so I’m really keen to get up there and be a part of the action.”

Supercars action returns with the Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight, from October 29-31.
