Six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has undergone a third operation in his right arm as a result of slow healing of the humerus bone.

Several months ago the Spaniard previously had to undergo shock wave treatment after a plate in his arm broke when opening a window.
However, this specific shock wave treatment did not work and has forced the factory Honda rider to undergo yet more surgery at the Hospital Ruber Internacional, in Madrid, for a pseudarthrosis of the right humerus.
A pseudarthrosis is a disease that occurs when a broken bone fails to heal after a fracture and can only be fixed when lengthy surgery is performed.
The eight-hour operation was carried out by a team made up of doctors Samuel Antuna, Ignacio Roger de Ona, Juan de Miguel, Aitor Ibarzabal and Andrea Garcia Villanueva.
The surgery consisted of the removal of the previous plate and the placement of a new plate with the addition of an iliac crest bone graft with a corticoperiosteal free flap.
It is hoped that this surgery undertaken will give the 27-year-old ample recovery time for the season opening round in Qatar on March 28.
