Supercars’ season launch will be staged on Sydney Harbour early next week.

It will be held on Tuesday, February 4 at Campbell’s Cove on Circular Quay with the iconic Harbour Bridge as the backdrop.

As previously revealed by AUTO ACTION, the Sydney launch will feature all the teams and drivers in an AFL/NRL-style new season unveiling.

The highlight of the launch is set to be the reveal of Team Sydney.

AA understands the recast Tekno Autosports entry will be on show with a re-liveried ZB Commodore and star signing James Courtney.

After a lot of angst, Team Sydney is going ahead with two Commodores supported by a Triple Eight customer deal.

Team owner Jonathon Webb has secured a second entry from Supercars and ordered an extra ZB from Triple Eight.

Former Supercars full-timer Chris Pither is set to return in the second Team Sydney entry.

Other teams are also expected to unveil their new-season liveries.

The Sydney harbourside launch will precede the pre-season test at The Bend in SA on February 18.

As also revealed by AUTO ACTION, the pre-season trial will be labelled as the BP Ultimate SuperTest as part of the petroleum giant’s new deal as Supercars’ official fuel supplier.

The Supercars championship begins with the February 20-23 Adelaide 500.
