Kelly Racing, formally known as Nissan Motorsport, has confirmed that Michael Caruso will not form part of their driver line-up in 2019.

The team made the announcement this afternoon confirming the departure of the two-time Supercars race winner, after six years as part of the factory Nissan program, which ended at the conclusion of last season.

“Kelly Racing confirms that Michael Caruso will not be returning with the Team in 2019.” read the announcement from the team.

“Michael joined the Team ahead of the 2013 season alongside the Nissan Supercar program. Since 2013, Michael has been an outstanding ambassador of the Team and his on-track success delivered the Teams second victory during the Nissan Motorsport era with a win at Darwin in 2016.”

“Kelly Racing thanks Michael for his contribution over the last six seasons and we wish him the best with his future endeavours.”

Kelly Racing will continue to run four Nissan Altimas in 2019 without manufacturer support with Rick Kelly and Simona de Silvestro the only two drivers confirmed as part of this season’s driver line-up so far.

It’s believed that Andre Heimgartner and Garry Jacobson are favourites to secure the remaining two seats with the team.
