Ducati has enlisted the services of two time MotoGP champion, Australian Casey Stoner, for their opening test of 2018.

Although the full details of the test have of Ducati’s test are yet to be confirmed, the Italian manufacturer will utilize both Stoner and regular test rider Michele Pirro at a three-day test at Sepang, January 24-26.

It’s possible that both riders could run Ducati’s new 2018 bike before Andrea Dovizioso and Jorge Lorenzo get a chance during the first official MotoGP test for the 2018 season a couple of days later, also at Sepang.

It’s also expected that Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, KTM, and Aprilia will also take part in both test at the Malaysian venue.

Stoner last rode the Italian manufacturer’s bike at Valencia in September last year. The Australian also completed the first tests on the 2017 bike early last year.
